An extremely talented cast is preparing to present this Tony Award-winning musical to Wenatchee audiences. John Ryan brings his considerable talents to the leading role of Miguel de Cervantes/Don Quixote. He has been seen on stage recently in “Xanadu” and “I Hate Hamlet”. The role of Aldonza, kitchen servant and prostitute, is played by upper valley favorite Maren Cagle. Among her many leading roles, she wowed Wenatchee audiences two years ago when she played Johanna in “Sweeney Todd”. In his biggest role in the Wenatchee area, Justin Valdez provides some comic relief as Quixote’s sidekick, Sancho Panza.
Wenatchee veteran actor Matthew Cadman is the kindly innkeeper while Mike Magnotti plays Dr. Carrasco. Eastmont High School senior Emily Abbott plays Antonia and Brady Dundas is the Padre. Eleven other gifted singers and actors round out the cast.
This story within a story includes well known songs such as “The Impossible Dream” and “Dulcinea” and is a great story of doing what’s right despite the consequences. This musical does include some mature themes and content and may not be suitable for children.
