This is not your typical "dance" show. A play written by Richard Harris and directed by Colleen Bowen.
CAST MEMBERS ANNOUNCED
Performances: October 15-17, 22-24, 29-30 at 7:30 pm and October 31 at 2:00 pm.
"Stepping Out" is about a former professional dancer, Mavis, who teaches a weekly tap class for adults. Mavis' "surrogate mother", Mrs. Fraser, is the piano player for the class and force in her own right. The other 7 women and 1 man attend the class for their own reasons. Many do this for just the sheer fun of it. While others go because it's the one thing they do for themselves during the week. We see the growth in their own lives along with the growth of their dancing.
When the class is asked to perform at a charity fund raiser, the tappers become very insecure about their abilities. With a lot of hard work, they practice for their big chance to perform on a real stage! And alongside other local dance groups. Come and see how the class performs for the "Save the Children Fund" Benefit! This is a fun, fast-paced comedy with touching moments that the entire family can enjoy.
